Butterfly Kisses was one of the wild horses on Assateague Island Virginia. A sad and tragic death of this horse during the island’s annual Pony Penning event to question the safety of the horses

Butterfly Kisses was a wild pony living on the federal wildlife refuge called Assateague Island. It's said that she was a very playful horse who roamed the island. During the pony penning of the Chincoteague volunteer fire company she died in a tragic accident. We will all miss Butterfly Kisses terribly but her new born baby colt named Trigger who was born just before the accident will miss her the most. I dedicate this piece to Butterfly Kisses and her baby colt that she leave behind.
